The project is currently active with several associated reseachers working on different parts of the project. We would like to continuously have the quota limits that are at present allocated to b2014034 (10240+4096 Gb) to be able to wrap up ongoing analyses and allow for incoming data 2018 (1 Tb new raw data planned).
The project aims at understanding the genetic basis of adaptation and speciation in natural populations of birds and butterflies. For that we use comparative genomics (whole genomes of several individuals from multiple species), population genomics (full genome re-sequencing of many individuals), linkage mapping (GBS type data for very large sample sets), and expression profiling (RNAseq data for large sample sets). The group consists of several associated reserachers and PhD-students working on different parts and will go on for at least 5 years to come. The PI is permanently employed at UU and has sufficient funding to cover forthcoming large sequencing efforts.
