We are currently generating various mouse models of medulloblastoma, the most common malignant brain tumor in children. We focus on signaling of MYC and MYCN cancer genes that are upregulated in molecular subgroups of medulloblastoma. We have analyzed tumors of these novel mouse models using RNA sequencing and methylation
Few larger datasets on RNA sequencing of human medulloblastoma samples exist as compared to data sets using older microarray methodology but the IGCG Controlled Data contains RNA Seq data and methylation data from medulloblastoma patients. Our interest is to compare the profiles of our models with the human sets using cross-species analysis and assigned an agreement with them to store this data safely as it is sensitive data.
In our projects, we would like to analyze and explore the expression of genes that are similar or different to the gene sets obtained from our mouse brain tumors or experimental tumors generated from MYC gene overexpression. Using IGCG RNA Seq data from medulloblastoma samples (e.g. EGAD00001003279) would give us much better accuracy as compared to using previously generated and publically available data from microarray analysis. Data will be used for academic purposes at our Dept. of Immunology, Genetics and Pathology, at Uppsala University in line with the Data Access Agreement with ICGC.
