Abstract

My team at Uppsala University has collaborated with a large set of experts from around the world to collect, sequence, and generate novel genome assemblies for ~130 Eutherian mammal species. These genomes have now been aligned together with the ~120 mammalian genomes available prior to this study to generate a dataset that will allow the detection of constraint at single base pair resolution. We plan to perform extensive analyses on this alignment to understand the role of functional constraint and divergent evolution on genome regulation.
