We do molecular dynamics of shear-driven jamming of both disks and elliptical particles in two dimensions (2D) and spheres and ellipsoidal particles in 3D. The particles are simulated at zero temperature and with contact-only interaction. Our aim is to check what determines the universality class (i.e. the values of the exponents) of the jamming transitions. We are then considering (i) a change of dimensionality from 2D to 3D and (ii) a change from circular/spherical to non-spherical (elliptical/ellipsoidal) particles.
