Abstract

The project aims to investigate numerical methods to analyse the flow around ships and propulsion systems, to improve performance and reduce nuisance. Effects that needs to be captured relate to transient and small scale flow details, having an impact on noise, vibration and cavitation from the propulsion system, as well as overall performance. The investigated methods thus focus on scale resolved simulation methodologies based on PANS and LES, including multiphase effects.
