This is a master thesis project. The project addresses issues on the 2 dimensional Ising model. The aim is to study the distribution of spin clusters at the critical temperature. Mainly systems in equilibrium are intended to be studied but also systems out of equilibrium might be of interest. The software used will be written in c++ and the program used will use both local updating routines like Metropolis and non-local cluster update routines like Wolff. Clusters will be identified according to a Hoshen-Kopelman scheme. Results will be analysed using finite size scaling techniques.
