Direct numerical simulation study of reaction front propagation in homogenous turbulence
This proposal extends previous project on direct numerical simulation (DNS) study of propagation of finite-thickness reaction wave in homogenous turbulence. The simulations are configured to allow statistical planar reaction wave propagating freely in a fully-periodic domain. For an in-depth analysis of turbulent/flame interaction, new DNS simulations are planned to collect comprehensive data for extracting locally conditioned statistics. The DNS data will also be used to study the leading-edge concep.
