Environmental effects on efficient population transfer in a quantum system
Environmental effects play a crucial role in any realistic quantum system. Especially, it has been recognized that for some quantum systems such as molecular aggregates, the environment can act as a resource to achieve efficient energy transfer. In this project we investigate if it is possible to fine-tune the environment such that efficient population transfer is achieved between end-sites in a model quantum system. We will also study the properties of such an environment. The results could give insights on how to make efficient artificial photosynthetic complexes.
