Abstract

The Echo Enabled Harmonic generation (EEHG) is a Free Electron Laser (FEL) configuration that promises the control of spectral and temporal properties of the radiation produced. This setup is going to be tested at FERMI@elettra, a soft X-ray FEL next year, during several experimental periods. A set of simulations has been already performed at short wavelength (about 5 nm), but in order to compare the performance of Echo with High Gain Harmonic Generation (HGHG) single and double-stage, it is necessary to perform other simulations at longer wavelength (around 10-12 nm). The exact working point will be determined by the outcome of the simulations and it is necessary to scan various alternatives. As part of the collaboration we will do a certain share of the simulations and we will benchmark them in the following months.
