Abstract

My topic of research is nanomagnetism and I am mainly work on the dynamics of magnetic skyrmions in the atomic scale. I am creating magnetic models with Dzyaloshinskii - Moriya (DM) interactions where skyrmions are stabilized under the influence of an external magnetic field and temperature. The parameters of the systems are usually tuned in order to observe changes in the properties of these magnetic structures such as size, velocity etc. My research is focused on the interaction of skyrmions with big impurities (big holes in the system) and with the edges of the system for the investigation of the creation and annihilation. For the latest interaction, I am using different types of edges and apart from the normal edges (ferromagnetic) I am also using antiferromagnetic, magnetically stiffer (stronger Heisenberg exchange interaction) and magnetically softer (weaker Heisenberg exchange interaction) edges. I am also working on one - dimensional chiral magnetic structures which are called solitons. By using these structures, I am investigating their potential use as information carriers in logic gates devices and more specific in a majority gate device where the resulting output state is the same with the majority of the input states (0 or 1).
