Abstract

We are interested in developing computer models of human speech production. This is a multidisciplinary research and we are working with both biomechanics, and acoustics. We are interested in modeling both physical phenomena and also the control mechanism, i.e. how the brain controls and coordinates the muscles to generate the speech articulation. To investigate speech motor control theories and more specifically redundancy in motor control, one need to simulate many possible solutions and figure out why a specific solution is chosen among others.
