Abstract

The current project serves as a continuation of b2015265 investigating extracellular RNA patterns. By employing a size-exclusion based EV purification method, we have been able to discriminate between extracellular vesicles (EVs), extra-vesicular secretome and additionally included cell samples in order to achieve a comprehensive background information of the cell-sourced RNA throughout a number of cell-lines. The current project is mainly focused on the investigation of small RNA patterns in the aforementioned sample types and hopes to reveal novel sorting patterns of the secretory small RNAs. Nevertheless, the preliminary analysis revealing the abundance of fragments derived from longer RNAs has opened us possibilities of re-employing the gained data, hence needing extension of the b2015265 project.
