Abstract

In this project we will use agent based modeling (ABM) to estimate the electrical load from charging electric vehicles in the city of Uppsala, Sweden. We will employ our spatio-temporal model to quantify the spatio-temporal electricity consumption. In our model we will estimate the parking lots in the city of Uppsala, Sweden, then we will run our Markov chain model to distribute the agents–in our case the electric vehicles–spatially on the parking stations. We will estimate the driving distance and hence the amount of energy which is needed by every agent. Using the previous information we will charge the vehicles in the parking locations and calculate the load. In Uppsala, there are 52000 cars, thus in our simulations we are modeling 52000 agents.
