Abstract

In order to maintain tissue integrity, stem cells balance the choice between renewal and differentiation. We are interested in understanding how this balance is maintained during tissue homeostasis, and how it is altered during regeneration or disease such as cancer. We use mouse models to dissect the role of transcriptional inhibitors ID1, ID2 and ID3 in developing and adult epithelial stem cell niches and combine in vivo phenotypic analysis with RNA-Sequencing data to understand how ID proteins influence stem cell renewal and differentiation. David Grommisch and Srivathsa Magadi in my lab has participated in the Introduction to Bioinformatics using NGS organized by SciLife and have generated RNA-Sequencing data that we would like to analyze using this resource.
