Abstract

We are working on large-surface metasurfaces to provide various optical functions using less-than-a-wavelength thin structures. These metasurfaces locally change the phase, amplitude, or polarization of electromagnetic waves. While very promising, these structures are also difficult to design, because they contain hundreds or thousands of small subwavelength resonators over a multi-wavelength large device, and thus require an accurate computation of the electromagnetic fields both on a subwavelength scale as on the device scale. On the nodes we currently have access to, the memory specs are limiting the progress of our simulations; therefore, we want to get access to the 1TB RAM node at C3SE.
