Abstract

Salamanders are important animals in our quest to understand regeneration and develop regenerative therapies. The Simon lab has sequenced and assembled the genome of the Iberian newt, a salamander amenable to laboratory breeding and transgensis. Currently, we are investigating the regulation of limb and brain regeneration in the Iberian newt and are preforming single-cell RNAseq and comparative bioinformatic analyses.
