We do molecular dynamics of shear-driven jamming of
elastic particles with contact-only interaction. Our present
work has two main goals: 1. To demonstrate convincingly
that the viscosity exponent, contrary to the prevailing
picture, is different in three dimensions than in two
dimensions. 2. To explore all kinds of phenomena for
shear-driven jamming of ellipsoidal (instead of spherical)
particles. This includes characterizing the jamming
transition and exploring consequences of the "quartic"
modes that are present in packings of jammed particles,
and also should affect shear-driven jamming in the limit
of small particle overlaps.
