Abstract

The stress-strain behaviour of different types of soil and rock regarding composition, formation and loading history is treated. Examples of applications include analysis of bearing capacity, settlement and vibration and issues relating to foundation, soil stabilisation, retaining structures, structure/soil interaction, slopes and landslides. A central theme is computational methods and computational strategies with a focus on computer simulation. The aim is to spread knowledge about advanced computational methods in construction projects especially concerning the interaction between the building and the ground.
