Abstract

Fornicata, a group of flagellated protists, have an anaerobic metabolism, but are still able to withstand fluctuating levels of oxygen. We identified 27 protein families putatively involved in the antioxidant defense, and propose how these enzymes interact to cope with the effect of changing O2-levels. This project will be used to run the phylogenetic trees of the 27 different dataset from the 27 protein families.
