Abstract

In the simulation work in this project, we will work with several problems related to multiphase flow problems in ship hydrodynamics. Part of the work incorporates previous research related to cavitating nuisance, and part of the work concerns renewed work on drag reduction by air lubrication. The need for simulation of cavitation induced erosion and pressure pulses and noise, (SNIC 2018/3-17) will increase as one PhD student and one postdoc now will start with simulation work on complex geometries within this project (has previously worked with experiments and some runs on C3SE/Glenn). For air lubrication, we have a new project with a postdoc starting during the fall where we will do high resolution large eddy simulations of a flow around an air chamber.
