Abstract

Since the whole genome of Norway Spruce has not sequences very precisely, the accuracy of genomic selection based on current SNP calling is rather low. So we would like to try SNP calling using other species (e.g. White Spruce) to increase the number of qualified markers to improve the accuracy. The genome for conifer are quite large, most of them are around 20 Gbp so we need large memory. And also, we want to test the novel deep learning method for genomic selection which may improve the results a lot. So we need utilise GPUs to optimise computing time.
