Abstract

Climate warming has great impacts on plant phenology. Satellites have recorded such phenological changes over decades and generated to big data to be handled on small clusters. This project aims to retrieve plant phenology over Eurasia from 2000 to the current (2018), 19 years, using the daily satellite images (20 tiles with an image size of 2400X2400 pixels, ~7000 images of a tile) and TIMESAT software. The output of the project will be the timing of the start-of-the-growing-season, the end-of-the-growing-season across Eurasia, and its temporal trends and climate relations.
